Homework this year will be set to reinforce the learning that is being completed at school, and will be greatly beneficial for your child to complete at home.
Each week, children will bring home a weekly spelling list given out on Fridays, to then complete a spelling test the following Friday. Daily practice would be much appreciated if this can be completed.
A big focus this year will be on Time Tables practise. To help the development of their understanding at home, children should be encouraged to make use of the online programme “Times Table Rockstars”. Their passwords and usernames will be given out in due course. With this programme, children can earn coins and rewards to improve their avatar which will be displayed in the classroom.
Finally, children will be sent home with a piece of Maths and English homework relating to the topic taught in the week which will be given out on Fridays to complete over the weekend. This will then need to be handed in the following week.
