Phishing: Spot and report scam emails, texts, websites and calls

'Phishing' is when criminals use scam emails, text messages or phone calls to trick their victims. The aim is often to make you visit a website, which may download a virus onto your computer, or steal bank details or other personal information.

Let’s face it, we have all received those emails, text messages or calls which you know are not right.

But did you know with just a couple of clicks, and in less than a minute, we can report these to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) that has the power to investigate and take down scam email addresses and websites.

In doing so, you will also…

  • reduce the amount of scam emails you receive.
  • make yourself a harder target for scammers.
  • protect others from cyber crime online.

Follow the below link the NCSC page for the email addresses and mobile number to report worrying emails and texts, advice on how to spot phishing scams as well as what to do if you’ve shared personal information.
