As we have discussed previously through our e-safety top tips, children use the internet for many, many things, but one of the most popular is to play computer games.

Whether it be Fortnite, FIFA, Roblox or Minecraft there really is a game for all ages and likes.

However beyond the title, how much do you really know about the game your child loves to play?

• Why do they love playing it?
• Do they talk to their friends through the game?
• Do they know how to block other players if they say or do anything that upsets them?

Talking to your child about what they’re doing when gaming is an important tool in helping keep them safe.

Have you heard the saying “the best way to learn, is to do”?

Well one fantastic activity to help start these conversations is hosting an ONLINE GAMES NIGHT for you and your child.

Why not find some time, choose a game, grab a seat and have a gaming session with them.

This is a fantastic way to get to know their favourite game and talk about what they experience and see how you can support them online. Just be prepared to get a schooling! You’ve been warned!
