No matter what guidance and controls we have in place for our online usage, there is always a chance that we may come across inappropriate content or behaviours online.

Whether this be someone posting something not age-appropriate for that forum OR someone displaying bullying behaviour.

Having read these fortnightly top tips about being in the online world and parental controls, we hope you feel confident in how to deal with such issues with your child.

HOWEVER we also think we all have a responsibility to do what we can to get this content or these behaviours removed to make the online world a better place for everyone.

Therefore, we have pulled together links to all the major social media and gaming networks to report either inappropriate content or individuals who are breaking their codes of conduct.

So no matter what gaming device or social media platform you find the inappropriate content or behaviour on, click the relevant link below to report to the format holders to help ensure other people are not exposed to the same content.

How to report anything of concern seen on social media sites Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, WhatsApp and Twitter….

How to report content or a player on the Xbox platform

How to report content on the Playstation Network

How to report content on a Nintendo console.

Nintendo do things a little differently. To report inappropriate issues on a Nintendo console you need to raise the issue against the specific title played when the issue arose. Therefore follow the below link, go to the search bar at the top right, and type ‘inappropriate content and the name of the game. You will then find a page specific to that title to report your concern.

If you have any questions about this, or anything else to do with your family's online safety before we break up on Wednesday or upon our return in September, please do not hesitate to speak to either your child’s teacher or a member of the Moorcroft Wood management team.
