Friday 10th December Newsletter

With so many sources of information online, it’s become increasingly difficult to make sense of what content is based on fact, half-truths or that could even be lies.

Also, with everyone’s use of digital platforms to share things, we can contribute to a powerful ripple effect, influencing others to see things as facts. This can be especially dangerous for young people who can be persuaded to take on distorted views of the world that could cause them or others harm.

Therefore this week’s e-safety top tip is focused on what is fake news, why people create it, how it can impact people and strategies on how to spot fake news.

Please see below a two-page guide on how to identify and tackle fake news and misinformation.

Then, giving you an opportunity to show off everything you have learnt, there is a fun quiz for the whole family to tackle by following the below link. Please note to get the most out of this quiz, allow for it to take somewhere between 15 and 30 minutes.

Finally, please remember that should you have any concerns about any of these weekly e-safety tips, please do not hesitate to speak to either your child’s teacher or a member of Moorcroft Wood's management team.
