Online Safety Tips For Parents

As you all know, we are big fans of the internet here at Moorcroft Wood.

Early use of digital technology has been shown to improve language skills and promote children’s social development and creativity.

However, as we discuss in our fortnightly top tips, it’s not without risks for young children.

And looking at some of the analytics, we cannot shy away from arming ourselves, and our children, with the knowledge of how to react to certain things.

Did You Know…

ONLY 49% of parents have spoken to their child regarding online safety in the last month.

42% of 6 to 10 year olds now have a tablet of their own

49% of 6 to 10 year olds say they prefer to watch YouTube content rather than TV programmes on a TV unit.

Therefore we have found a fantastic 4 page booklet which covers the top seven things every parent should be aware of as well providing a link for how to report anything that concerns you.

Please find 5 minutes to have a read of the booklet found below.

After this, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to Mr Gilbey or your class teacher.
