Do you have a Fortnite player in your house?

With over 350 million registered players, Fortnite it is one of those rare titles which has broken through from the gaming world to create a wider cultural impact. You may have seen Fortnite plush toys, branded clothing, stationery and even bedspreads on the shelves in the build up to Christmas. Also, by incorporating popular characters from franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, it is no surprise a sizeable proportion of the game’s fans are below the recommended age limit of 12.

How much of a danger does Fortnite pose to its younger players?

For starters, the game is fundamentally about using weapons to eliminate a stream of enemies. However, adults also need to be aware of further potential issues like in-app purchasing, scams and toxic behaviour from other players.

So if you have a young Fortnite fan in your family, please download the below guide by clicking on the link to learn about the risks players can face, and how they can stay safe when they are playing.

Finally, should you have any concerns about anything either you or your child experience online, please do not hesitate to speak to either your child's teacher or a member of the Moorcroft Wood management team.
