TikTok is a social media app centred on short videos. Many people think of it as a bite-size version of YouTube, with videos ranging between five and 120 seconds in length.

The app is taking the world by storm, with over 2 billion downloads globally, making TikTok the world’s seventh-most popular social platform.

TikTok is to thank (or blame, depending on your perspective) for culinary trends, a new wave of famous dogs, 2000s nostalgia, and even that short dance routine you may have been dragged into performing.

However, like many social media platforms, TikTok requires its users to be at least 13 years old. This means if children visit TikTok they may well be exposed to inappropriate language and content, or even strangers seeking to make contact.

Whilst Moorcroft Wood support the restricted age limit of 13+ on this platform, and encourage parents to enforce this restriction, we are aware many children below this age do visit this platform.
