We hope you have had an amazing Summer break and we cannot wait to see you back for another fantastic year! Please read the information below to set you up for our return to school on Monday.
Some restrictions have eased but please use your judgement to keep your families and our school community as protected as we can. The wearing of face masks when outside is now a personal choice however, face masks will be required if you need to enter the school office.
Please make your way to the car park as you did last year. Gates open at 8:40 (for the long march around the school building) and classroom doors will be open by 8:45. Please drop off any siblings along the way to keep to the one way system. You can then exit through the Nursery gate as before. All classroom doors will close at 8:55 so please ensure that the children are in on time so that they are able to start their lessons promptly. Any late arrivals will need to register at the front office.
As Early Years and Key Stage 1 finish earlier, please enter school by the Nursery gate at 3:10. Can we ask that you keep to left hand side of the playground (by the steps to the slide) to keep the path clear. Once you have collected, follow the one way system back out through the car park to leave (at least you get your steps in still!) Any children not collected by 3:25 will be booked into After-school club. Please call the office to let us know of any issues where possible. Thank you for understanding.
PE lessons will be on Wednesdays and Fridays. Children will need come to school in their PE kits as they did last year. Just as a reminder, PE kits should now be black jogger bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a black hoodie or jumper. Any suitable pair of trainers or pumps can be worn.
Please make sure that all uniform, coats, PE kits, lunch boxes, bottles and book bags are named or initialled please. Having also spent a small fortune kitting my own three out, help me to be able to return lost items as easily as possible. Thank you in advance!
Our first story is called Meerkat Mail by Emily Gravett. I would love to enhance our reading area with some meerkats teddies. If you happen to have any of the Compare the Meerkat teddies that you wouldn't mind lending/donating, I would be incredibly grateful. I will not need many so please don't go out of your way if you don't have any.
I will share some more information with you through the course of next week but if you are in need of any further information before the start of term, please do not hesitate to message through ClassDojo or Facebook.
Have a great weekend!
The Year 2 team.
