Week 9 - wc. 08.03.2021

Home Learning Activities - w.c. 08.03.2021

Good morning. For anyone who is unable to return to school just yet due to isolation or other circumstances, I have uploaded home learning for the week ahead below. We will be using lessons from the Oak National Academy which is an online classroom created by teachers across the country. It is free to use and requires no log in details. There will be a sequence of lessons, usually one for each day of the week, to help you to progress through a topic. There is no set timetable for each day so you can choose the order in which you take part in these lessons and the timings to suit your individual needs at home. Please do not feel pressured into completing every single lesson posted below. I am simply offering you lots of options for you to take your pick from. I will, as always, be available to contact on Class Dojo should you have any queries about the lessons and work. I can't wait to see your super work! laughyes

Literacy:

Click on the link below to take you to our Literacy home learning lessons with Adam and Panda. Adam and Panda will be teaching you all about 'The Noisy House'. There are 10 lessons in this series so, by using one lesson per day, this topic will offer us two weeks worth of lessons.

As well as tuning in to learn with Adam and Panda, don't forget there are many other ways to practise our Literacy skills too. You might like to play splat the sound, make words with magnetic letters or your sound cards, practise forming letters in foam/glitter/flour/salt, write your name in paint/mud/chalk, play phonics games on Phonics Play or snuggle down with a good book from home, the Bug Club or Oxford Owl.

This week we are celebrating 'World Book Day'. Even if you are learning at home you can still dress up as your favourite book character on Thursday to mark the occasion if you would like to. You might like to make a reading den and snuggle down with a good book at home, visit the schools' virtual book fair or make a 3D model of your favourite story or book character to enter our school competition. See the links below for further details.

Maths:

Following on from last week, we will continue to learn about shapes at school this week. So that you can continue your work on shapes at home as well, take a look at the Oak Academy link below. Join Zara and Reggie to learn all about 2D and 3D shapes and see if you can find any of these shapes at home or in the environment around you.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED):

'Staying Safe' will be our home learning topic this week for personal, social and emotional development education. Using the link below, you will find four lessons on how to stay safe online, in your home, in the event of a fire and by the road, should you would wish to take part in these.

Understanding the World:

If you would like to take part in some understanding the world lessons this week, then take a look at the link below. There are three lessons on the topic of journeys. Learn all about travel on trains and see if you can find a train station on a map.

Expressive Arts and Design - Music:

If you fancy, why not use the magic of music to learn all about journeys and transport. Go on musical adventures by foot, on a boat, on a bus or by train. There are six lessons in this series. You might like to just pick one or two of these to have a go at or you might like to try out all six over the next few weeks.

Physical Development:

Don't forget to stay active too! Take you pick from one of the activities below or look back at previous physical development tasks we have completed to get warmed up each day.
