Home Learning Activities - w.c. 13.07.2020

Good morning Reception. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend. It has been a very strange school year indeed but I just want to say a massive thank you and well done to all children, parents and carers for your continued hard work at home during these difficult times. Many of you have had to juggle working from home with home learning, childcare, housework and much, much more. Nevertheless, you have risen to the challenge and absolutely smashed it. Thank you for the regular updates of the children's home learning activities. It has been wonderful to see the excellent progress that children have been making with their physical skills, reading, writing, maths and everything else too.

By the end of the Reception year, there are a set of 'Early Learning Goals' that we aim for children to meet. There are 17 goals across 7 areas of learning. I have shared these goals with you on previous parents evenings but below is copy of the goals to remind you of what they are.

Twinkl have produced a document of activities to try out at home that support children in meeting those 'Early Learning Goals'. For your home learning this week, you might like to use this document to complete a variety of these activities. Some activities might not currently be possible due to lockdown restrictions and social distancing, however, they might be nice activities to keep in mind for when they are allowed again. There might be some activities that you feel you can already do really well and others that you would like to spend longer practising. Whichever activities you do get up to, make sure you have lots of fun!
Alternatively, you may wish to continue with the lessons produced by the Oak Academy online, RWI lessons on YouTube, reading stories from Oxford Owl, completing Talk for Writing booklets, playing games on Phonics Play or practising your maths skills on Education City. The choice is yours!
We love going to Forest Schools in Reception! We have such fun and come on leaps and bounds in development. Below, I have posted a link to an 'Outdoor Home Learning Bingo'. Over the week see how many challenges you can cross off and once you have completed them all don't forget to shout BINGO! I'd love to see and hear about the activities you have been up to.

I hope you have another fantastic week. Please keep the photos and messages coming on Class Dojo. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Reception, I am so proud of you and all your hard work and determination. Sending you all 'air high fives' for all of your super work. Have a well deserved rest over summer and I can't wait to see all of your smiley faces in person again, in September!

Stay safe and take care.

Miss Millington.
