Wednesday 24th February 2021

Good Morning!

What another great day yesterday. You are making your teachers very proud.

8:50 – 9.50

Screen Free Time

As it is Wellbeing Wednesday all of the activities that we will be doing today will be away from the screen. This morning we would like you to start making a game that you can play with your family. It could be a board game, a sports game, a guessing game, a puzzle or anything else that you can think of. This could be played in the evening instead of spending time on your screens or at the weekend. If you would like to make your own version of a game that already exists that is fine or you can make your own idea and rules. It will take longer than the 60 minutes that you have for this lesson to finish making the game, so please set it aside and we will come back to it again. If you would like to keep working on this after school then please feel free.

9.55-10.55

Maths

In Maths today we would like you to continue learning about 3D shapes.

As we have no online lessons today we would like you to identify as many 3D shapes as you can in your house and make a list. Put all of the same shapes together.

This could be any item, from mugs you drink your hot chocolate out of as a cylinder, to oranges you eat as a sphere.

We would then like you to have a go at building the tallest tower you can out of some of the objects you find, only use things that will not break.

10.55 – 11.10

Break

11.10 – 11.35

Times table Practise

We would like you to group objects within your home into groups of 2 and then 5’s. This could be any objects you have.

You could use Lego and stack them in 2, 4, 6 and so on. See how far up the times table you can go.

11.35 – 12.25

English

In English, again we have no online session, we are carrying on the ‘Talk for Writing’ piece.

We would like you to draw and label your very own superhero. You need to add as much detail as you can from the powers you might have to the colour and material your clothes are made from.

We need to use adjectives.

Adjectives are describing words.

An example is:

My cape is made from green and gold silk to help me fly fast through the air.

My adjectives are green and gold.

Remember to be very creative because if you were a superhero you would want to be the best.

12.25 – 1.25

Lunch

1:25 – 2:05

PE

In PE today we would like you to spend some time outdoors getting some fresh air and also enjoying nature. You may choose to go for a walk, a bike or scooter ride or play football in the back garden, it is totally up to you. Whilst you are outside have a look at how many different birds you can see. Can you name them all?

Remember that during this time you need to be working hard to increase your heart rate and getting the benefits of physical activity.

2:05 – 2:45

RE

Today in RE we will be starting a new topic all about Easter. Spend around five minutes talking about why we celebrate Easter. What happened to Jesus? What happens when things die? Some people believe that when we die we go to heaven, what do you think heaven is like? When a person has died even though we cannot see them we can see them inside our head and in our memories which is really important. You may want to talk about someone you have lost during the next part of the lesson, share happy memories and thoughts with each other. We would then like you to describe what you think heaven looks like, remember when you are writing to use capital letters to start each sentence and full stops to end them. You will need to include adjectives in your description too, to paint a picture in the readers head. Once you have written your description please draw a picture of what you think heaven looks like.

2.45 – 3.05

Home Reader

For your home reader today get cosy and pick your favourite book to read. Maybe you could read to your teddy bear or your pet.
