Wednesday 24th February 2021

Good morning,

No doubt you are aware of the latest announcement regarding children returning to school on 8th March.  Nursery is open and has been throughout the lockdown so if you feel that you would like to send your children to Nursery before that date, you are more than welcome to do so.  The Nursery door will be open at 8.45 am for children to be dropped off.  The gate will open for home time at 11.45am.

In the mean time, I will continue to provide daily updates of home learning suggestions for you and your child to enjoy at home.

Kind Regards,

Mr Leese

Geraldine the Giraffe learns the /sh/ sound

Get more activities, more resources and of course, more Geraldine, from Mr T's Phonics - here: https://www.mrtsphonics.com/more-geraldine-youtube/ We make le...

The sound 'sh' is made with two letters but is only one sound.  It makes the 'sh' sound as in 'sh' 'o' 'p' 'shop.  Watch the video and see if you can spot any of the words with the 'sh' sound in them.

The Train Ride

Enjoy the story / song. The story is about a ride on a train but are there any other vehicles in the story? I could see a tractor and a boat - can you spot them too?

Art - Flour Handprint

For this activity you will need to go outside with a sieve, some flour and some natural items for decoration (such as twigs, leaves or grass).  Place your hand on the floor and ask an adult to sieve some flour over your hand whilst you keep it still.  When you remove your hand you will have a lovely handprint on the ground.  Use your items to decorate it.  You can send a photograph of your completed picture to me on dojo.

I know that you really enjoy writing letters in flour.  If you would like to write some letters in flour and send them to me that would be great.

Go for a listening walk

Go for a walk or sit in the garden.  What can you hear?  Can you hear any types of transport (cars, motorbikes, lorries etc).  Can you hear any birds?  Talk to an adult about what you can hear.  You may want to draw a picture of some of the different things that you can hear.  I would love to see a photograph of your picture on dojo.
