Good Morning!
What brilliant work again yesterday Year2. We hope you are ready for another fun day.
8:50 – 9:30
PSHE
Last week in PSHE we started our new topic all about keeping safe and we began the unit by looking at road safety. Today we will be learning about another really important topic which is how to stay safe online. In everyday life there are things that can be dangerous to us such as busy roads and broken glass, we try to avoid these things or learn how to deal with these situations. This is exactly the same online, there are websites online that are appropriate for children and ones that are not. During this lesson we are going to learn how to spot those websites that are suitable for children and ones which aren’t. It is really important to remember that when we go online we must make sure that we are in a central room in our home and that there is an adult in the room with us at all times.
We would like you to read the PowerPoint all about Internet safety which can be found in the resources section of the webpage. Once you have done that we would like to you to download the Wonderful Websites and Sort Them Out Activity Sheets, don’t worry if you don’t have a printer you can write your answers in your blue book. You will need to look at the information about the various websites and decide if they are safe for children or not, for example:
www.amazingelephants.com
A website full of elephant facts and short video clips. You can read it easily.
The information about this website tells us that it is safe for children.

Maths
Today in Maths we are going to continue looking at division. Yesterday we learnt how to share equally.
Using the challenge cards on our class page and your yellow Maths book, we are going to solve some division questions.
To divide equally we need to remember to share the total number (first number) by the amount (the second number).
So this would look like:
Using a pencil every time you cross out apple as above but a dot in one of the bowls below. Continue this until each bowl has one dot in then start again at the first bowl. Make sure each bowl is equal.
Once all of the apples are crossed out it you should be left with:
Now count how many is in each bowl. Make sure each bowl has the same amount in. For example:
Once you have counted and checked there are equal amounts in each bowl, you then us that number as your answer.
So 15 ÷ 3 = 3

English
Today in English we are going to carry on with our ‘Talk for Writing’ unit. We would like you to re-read the text from yesterday on pages 4-7.
Today we want to start looking at the information within the text.
To make sure we find the correct information in a text we need to make sure we read the text twice. This is so we become more familiar with the story. You have already read it once so let’s read it again now.
Now we have read the text twice we can begin to look at the questions.
For example question 1 says:
How did Pandora change the world forever?
I am now going to read the text and underline the information that answers the question.
The answer is now underlined. We need to now answer the question using a full sentence. When we say using a full sentence we need to make sure we use capital letters, full stops and read the sentence to make sure it makes sense.
We would answer the question as following:
Pandora changed the world forever because she was too nosey.
In my sentence I have used a capital letter and full stop. I have also used a conjunction , a joining word (because), to join two sentences together.
We would now like you to carry on and answer the remaining questions in your blue English books.
