Good Morning Year 3!

A fantastic day yesterday as always. It’s so wonderful seeing all of the photos and videos of you learning so hard at home. Thank you again parents/ carers as this would not be possible without you!

As a reward we are not setting you any work today :)

APRIL FOOLS!

Today we would like you to get you maths books out and complete the multiplication pages. Sorry we cannot be more specific on the page numbers but this is due to children having different books. To complete the questions you may wish to use a ruler, array (draw the question out in circles. For example 3 x 2, 3 sets of 2 circles would look like    00 + 00 + 00 = 6), short multiplication (set out in columns), grid method (you partition the numbers and then multiply each then add them together. For example 35 x 3 would look like 30 x 3 = 90 and 5 x 3 = 15. 90 +15 = 105) or mental multiplication.

In English we would like you to use the PowerPoint on our class page on the website called ‘Fix The Sentence.’ I have attached both key stage 1 and 2 so the challenge becomes more difficult the more you complete. This will help develop your editing skills focused on you helping Mr Whoops with his spelling, punctuation and grammar mistakes.

Remember we would also like you to continue with the following:

‘My Nutrition Diary (I have attached a link for one on the class page and on Class Dojo but feel free to create your own if you do not have a printer). The diary includes what you ate that day and which nutrient was provided by which food you ate.

To learn the Makaton signs for ‘I Can Sing A rainbow.’ We will be learning this with you with the hope of creating a class video of us all completing it. I have attached a link to the signs and song to copy. If you could send us the videos of you signing to the messages on Class Dojo this will make it easier to put the video together as a class. We thought we could dedicate this video to the NHS staff.

The Easter competition posted on our Class Dojo page and class page on the website. Come on Year 3 one of us can win the competition!

Please could you try and read for 5 to 10 minutes today. We would like to see pictures of you reading to someone in your house. This could be an adult, sibling, pet or toy.

If you require any help or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on the Class Dojo page or on our school Facebook page.

Remember there are Dojo points up for grabs for every picture we see of completed work and points for going above and beyond by completing extra tasks.

Have a brilliant day and stay safe.

Mrs Etheridge and Mrs Joesbury
