Hi everyone,

I hope you enjoyed your snow day yesterday.  I have included some work on a snowy theme for today that you may wish to do.  I hope you enjoy it.

Kind regards,

Winter Home Learning Challenge

I will be going on a snowy walk a little later.  I will take some photographs to show you.

Can you design your own snowman - better still, you may be able to go outside and make one.

Geraldine the Giraffe learns /f/

Watch UK school teacher Mr Thorne and Youtube sensation Geraldine the Giraffe take you on a learning journey through the world of phonics, grammar, spelling ...

Lowercase Alphabet Letter F Learn to Read and Write

Learn to read and write the lowercase letter F with this fun and engaging letter formation video. Listen to the phonic sound the letter F makes over and over...

Have a go at writing the letter 'f'.  There are several different styles to use to write 'f', but the one that we use in school is the same as the one in the writing video.  The style that is used in the Geraldine video is not how we write the letter 'f' in school although it may appear like that in several books that the children look at.

Maths / Speaking and Listening

Go on a winter walk.  What can you see?  How many things can you count?  Discuss with your child what they notice and how things are different to normal.

What does the snow feel like?  What is it made of?  What happens to the snow?  Why does it go?  What happens when the snow warms up?

Winter Pictures

Here are some pictures from my winter walk.  I cannot see the troll under that bridge - it must have been too cold for him.

Have a go at making your own winter picture.  You could use cotton wool for snow.
