Maths
In Maths today we are going to continue looking at the properties of 3D shapes.
We going on a visit to shape city.
Shape city is made up of a variety of 3D shapes. We need to identify the shapes we can see.
For example:
Can you find a building which has a cone on top of a cylinder? Or could you draw a building that has a cone on top of a cylinder? What real life 3D objects could you use to make a cone on top of a cylinder?
You could use an ice cream cone on top of a toilet roll.
To complete today’s task we have attached an activity sheet to our class page and you need to follow the instructions to draw your own building/tower using real 3D objects.
Once you have completed the worksheet we would like you to create some of your own 3D towers using everyday objects you can find in your house.

English
Today in English we are going to start a new ‘Talk for Writing’ piece. Our piece is called ‘Superheroes.’
The first thing we need to do is to read the fact files and text on pages 3-5. There is also a link on page 3 for you to listen to the story. We need to read or listen to the story twice just like we do in comprehension.
Our task for today is to complete the vocabulary check on page 5 and 6 and then move on to page 7 to fill out what you liked about the story and any questions you have about the text.
We first need to read the sentences provided in the vocabulary check and write down what we think the words in bold mean.
We then need to look at the words listed and match them with the correct meaning. To complete the vocabulary check we will need to use a dictionary. We have attached a link to Collins online dictionary
https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english
After the vocabulary check complete the questions about your opinions on the story.
