Today we would like you to get your Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling book out please and complete the page all about Using and, but and or on page 10.

Using and this would become:

I went to the park and I had an ice cream.

An example of using but is:

I am happy. Mrs Gardner is sad.

Using but this sentence would become:

I am happy but Mrs Gardner is sad.

An example of using or is:

We can go to the beach. We can go to the shop.

Using or this would become:

We can go to the beach or go to the shop.

Your first task for today is to complete the RWI lesson for Set 3 sound ‘ew’. Click on the link below and select Set 3 sound ‘ew’ lesson.

Make sure you click on Set 3 sounds on the playlists and then on Set 3 speed sounds with Rosie. When you have finished watching the Set 3 sound video please feel free to watch the Set 3 spelling video too.

In Maths today we are going to continue looking at the properties of 3D shapes.

We going on a visit to shape city.

Shape city is made up of a variety of 3D shapes. We need to identify the shapes we can see.

For example:

Can you find a building which has a cone on top of a cylinder? Or could you draw a building that has a cone on top of a cylinder? What real life 3D objects could you use to make a cone on top of a cylinder?

You could use an ice cream cone on top of a toilet roll.

To complete today’s task we have attached an activity sheet to our class page and you need to follow the instructions to draw your own building/tower using real 3D objects.

Once you have completed the worksheet we would like you to create some of your own 3D towers using everyday objects you can find in your house.

Times table Practise

Today we would like you to go to the link below and play ‘Mental Maths Train’. Remember to concentrate on your 2, 5 and 10 times tables and that you are confident before moving on to any of the others.

11.35 – 12.25

Today in English we are going to start a new ‘Talk for Writing’ piece. Our piece is called ‘Superheroes.’

The first thing we need to do is to read the fact files and text on pages 3-5. There is also a link on page 3 for you to listen to the story. We need to read or listen to the story twice just like we do in comprehension.

Our task for today is to complete the vocabulary check on page 5 and 6 and then move on to page 7 to fill out what you liked about the story and any questions you have about the text.

We first need to read the sentences provided in the vocabulary check and write down what we think the words in bold mean.

We then need to look at the words listed and match them with the correct meaning. To complete the vocabulary check we will need to use a dictionary. We have attached a link to Collins online dictionary

After the vocabulary check complete the questions about your opinions on the story.

12.25 – 1.25

1.25 – 2.05 (this task will continue at 2.20)

This afternoon we well be continuing with algorithms in computing. Remember an algorithm is a set of instructions.

Today we are going to use a PowerPoint on our class page called ‘Crazy Characters’.

Once you have read the PowerPoint we would like you to complete the activity of writing your own algorithm for your own crazy character. Ask someone at home to follow your algorithm and see if they draw your character.

Home Reader

We now have access to Bug Club. This allows you to read a variety of books at the correct book band you are on at school. We have allocated your book bands but once you have read all of the books within your current book band it will automatically move you up to the next one. We can’t wait to see how many book bands you move up.

Remember to start each story by using the read to me button and then read the story yourself. After each story make sure you answer the questions at the back of the book to help with your comprehension skills.
