Hello Year 3

We hope that you enjoyed yesterday’s activities and had lots of fun making music from objects in your home. It was great seeing so many of you at school yesterday 😊 we hope you enjoyed the session as much as we did.

Today we would like you to complete an Art activity all about pop art. Pop art was made famous by Andy Warhol who would base his art on popular products and celebrities. He used a screen printing technique and his work often featured incredibly bright colours. We would like you to click on the link below and watch the videos which explain more about pop art and then we would like you to have a go at creating your own masterpiece.

It’s not always possible to go outside and exercise so today we would like you to exercise in your house. The game below is a great way to exercise and lots of fun too 🙂

In English today we would like you to complete a verb activity on page 20 of your CGP workbook, if your joining us for the zoom lesson please don’t complete this task until then. This activity is all about identifying the verbs that agree with their subject

For example:

I is an brilliant pianist.

This sentence is not grammatically correct so needs to be changed to I am a brilliant pianist.

You will also need to identify sentences that have been written in active and passive voices.

We can tell if a sentence has used an active or passive verb by asking some simple questions:

  • Is the subject performing the verb? (If yes, it is an active sentence)

OR

  • Is the subject having the action done to it? (If yes, it is a passive sentence)

OR

  • Is it clear who is performing the action? (If not, it is a passive sentence)

For example:

Active: Wales beat Spain in the final.

Passive: Spain were beaten by Wales in the final.

In Maths today we would like you to complete some times tables activities. Could you please log onto times tables rockstars and get practising. If you can’t find your login detail then please send us a message and we will send them over to you. You could also play hit the button and complete the times tables activities on Mathletics.

It’s been great to hear about all of the books that you’ve been reading during lockdown, please keep up the daily reading and make sure you find 15 minutes today to relax and enjoy your book.

We’re always here to help so please contact us on Class Dojo or Facebook if you need any assistance. We look forward to seeing you at 1 o’clock on zoom.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Mrs Joesbury and Mrs Etheridge
