Good Morning Year 3 🙂
We need to start by saying how much we enjoyed seeing those children who came into school for their session yesterday, we had so much fun and hope you did too. Can my group (Mrs Joesbury) please send me a picture of your art work as you all did such an amazing job 👍🏻
We also received lots of great work from the rest of the class too so well done and keep it up!
Our zoom lesson will start at 1 o’clock today and you’ll need your CGP Maths workbook. If you are joining us for the lesson then please don’t complete this task until then. If you can’t make the lesson then please open your books to pages 40 and 41, these pages are all about perimeter. Perimeter is the distance all the way around the outside of a 2D shape. The link below provides further details and a video.

We would like you to open your English CGP workbook to page 9 which is all about prepositions. A preposition is a word that tells you where or when something is in relation to something else. Examples of prepositions include words like after, before, on, under, inside and outside.
After walking for miles she rested on the hill.
In this sentence ‘after’ tells you when she rested and ‘on’ tells you where she rested.
We will be learning more about Ancient Egypt today and why the river Nile was so important to the Egyptians. In the resources section on the class homepage we have added a PowerPoint which we would like you to read. It explains how the Egyptians used the river and how it provided food and wealth for them. Once you’ve read it please complete the activity sheet which can also be found in the resources section.
We would like you to continue with the daily reading as it’s really important. You could hunt for prepositions whilst you’re reading and if you find any please let us know as we can award you dojo’s for extra work.
Remember to make time to exercise, you could join in with Joe Wicks’ PE lesson, jog on the spot, go for a run around your garden or even do some chores at home such as mopping and hoovering as they’re a great way to stay active and I’m sure it would make your parents and carers very happy.
As always we’re available on Class Dojo or via Facebook messenger so please contact us if you need any help or assistance. We look forward to seeing you on Zoom at 1 o’clock.
Have a fun day and stay safe.
Mrs Joesbury and Mrs Etheridge
