Good Morning Year 3 :-)

It was great to hear from so many of you yesterday, you’re doing such a brilliant job with the home learning 👍🏻

During our zoom lesson today we will be working from our new Maths book, so if you are joining the lesson please do not complete this activity just yet. If you can’t make the lesson then please open your new Maths book to page 8. This activity is all about counting in multiples, multiples are numbers that are multiplied by another. For example:

1 x 3 = 3

2 x 3 = 6

3 x 3 = 9

3 x 4 = 12

3, 6, 9 and 12 are all multiples of 3 as they are in the 3 times tables.

In English today we would like you to complete the pronouns activity on page 2 of the Key Stage Two English booklet. Pronouns are words that are used instead of nouns, for example:

I, me, he, she, him, her and we.

If pronouns were not used then sentences could become very repetitive. For example:

Harriet went for a walk to the park and Harriet decided to play on the swings, after a while Harriet was tired so Harriet walked home.

If I replace the noun Harriet with pronouns my sentence is less repetitive.

Harriet went for a walk to the park and she decided to play on the swings, after a while Harriet was tired so she decided to walk home.

The second sentence sounds much better now that pronouns have been used.

We would also like you to continue looking at Ancient Egypt in History today. Last week you designed your very own canopic jar and today we would like you to complete a comprehension all about them and what they were used for. Warning it’s a little bit gory! Remember to read the text twice before answering the questions and to underline or highlight any key information.

Exercise is a great way to keep your body and mind fit and healthy so today we’d like to see you all talking part in some exercise, it can be anything from PE with Joe, a nice walk or a run around the garden.

You’ll probably want to relax for a little bit once you’ve done all of that exercise and what better way to relax than to read a book, please try to read for at least 15 minutes today.

As always we are here to offer help and support so please contact us via class dojo or Facebook if there is anything we can do.

Have a super day and we’ll see you at 1 o’clock for our zoom lesson 🙂
