RWI Activities

I’ve listed below books to read from the Oxford Owl website – read the text assigned for your RWI book band (parents and carers, if you are unsure what colour books your child should be reading, please ask as I have a list). Practise speed sounds, green and red words, everything that you would ordinarily do during RWI! Once you have read the book, try the Questions to Talk about verbally (FF means Fastest Finger – the children know to hunt for the answers in the text and put their finger on it, and HaT means Have a Think – children need to think about the answer as it will not be written in the text) and then children can answer the ‘Questions to read and answer’ before practising speedy green words.
