Physical Development

Let’s have a squiggle and a wiggle today to warm up our arms and hands. It is important to work on our gross and fine motor skills to strengthen the muscles in our arms and hands so that we can become super writers.

 

Reception know how ‘Squiggle whilst you Wiggle’ works but just as a reminder - first you will need to grab yourself two ‘flipper flappers’ (these can be two pieces of kitchen towel, tissues, napkins, dusters, whatever you can find that is similar). Hold one in each hand. Next choose a song (Under the Sea and I just can’t wait to be King are two of our favourites in class). Make circles, lines and arches to the music using your flipper flappers. Once you have done this, replay the song again, but this time, make the same motions on a piece of paper with two crayons. Have fun!
