Reception know how ‘Squiggle whilst you Wiggle’ works but just as a reminder - first you will need to grab yourself two ‘flipper flappers’ (these can be two pieces of kitchen towel, tissues, napkins, dusters, whatever you can find that is similar). Hold one in each hand. Next choose a song (Dance Monkey, Under the Sea and I just can’t wait to be King are some of our favourites in class). Make circles, lines and arches to the music using your flipper flappers. Once you have done this, replay the song again but this time make the same motions on a piece of paper with two crayons.

If you would like to shake it up a bit and try something different, how about instead of using paper and crayons on your second wiggle, grab a tray and some shaving foam and have fun in the foam making your lines or circles. You can see an example of this in the video below. Shonette and the children have used their flipper flappers for their first go and then shaving foam later on. Have fun!
