Phonics
We have now taught the children most of the set 1 RWI sounds. We will revise them several times throughout the year to ensure the learning in embedded. We are also teaching the children to blend these sounds together to say words.
Please see the link 'Sounds' below for a video guide on how to pronounce the sounds. The pronunciation may seem a little odd compared to how the sounds were traditionally taught in school but research has shown that by learning the sounds in this way it is easier for children to learn to read words later on.
Remember, if you are unsure of anything in the video clip, please feel free to ask.
