Good morning Reception!
I hope you have had a lovely and relaxing weekend. This week is Safer Internet Week! We will begin the week by exploring technology and investigating what technology we have in our homes, before going on to find out about how to stay safe online. On Thursday we will celebrate Safer Internet Day and will spend the day completing various activities on this year's theme of 'an internet we trust'.
I have made a few slight changes to our home learning this week. It is brilliant to hear how many of you have become confident completing your calendar daily. It is something we do everyday in school so that we know what to expect for the day ahead. Whether that be a day that we have PE or an assembly, by completing our calendar every morning we are prepared. This does not have to be a long or onerous task by any means but just a quick reminder each day of what day it is. As we have discussed on several occasions, we are all different and like different things. From now on, pick your favourite way to work out the date each day. Some of you like to complete your calendar in the same way everyday and others prefer to mix it up, there is no right or wrong way. As we have said everyone is different, so you do what you prefer. The choice is yours!

Another change I have made for this week is to combine our sounds, handwriting and reading into one Literacy session. As I have spoken to many of you about during parents consultations last week, we will now also begin to take our writing to the next level and begin to write short sentences. There will also therefore be writing included in this Literacy session. Please let me know if you have any questions or queries.

Please remember, the times for Reception are only suggested times. I appreciate that at this age, children require more adult support than in older years and you all have many other commitments at home looking after babies, working from home, completing home learning with multiple siblings in the house etc. So the timetable is there as a guide but if you need to shuffle lessons around that is not a problem.
We are live at 1.05pm on Google Classroom for our story time. It would be lovely to see you all there and give the children a chance to say hello to all of their friends too.
Take care, stay safe and have a brilliant day.
Miss Millington.
