Good Morning Year 3!
We hope you have had a lovely weekend. We are about to start our 5th week of home learning. This Friday is VE Day so we have lots of fun activities planned for you.
In English we are going to continue with our Talk for Writing piece of work. First we would like you to re-read the story ‘The Truth About Trolls’. We would also like you to re-read your planning from Friday. Today we are going to begin to draft our poster piece. We would like you to use your planning and write the first three parts (Heading, Introduction, What do trolls look like and Where do trolls live). Remember to use your planning sheet to help you. We have attached the booklet to our class page on our school website and above on Class Dojo, we are looking at page 16 and there are pointers to help you write your draft. You can use either poster A or B for your success criteria of what you need to include. Remember you do not need worry about printing this off, the activities can be completed on separate paper.
In Maths we are continuing to look at fractions this week. We would like you to click on this link:
We would like you to scroll to the bottom of the page, click on week 2 lesson 1 ‘Fractions on a Number line’ and watch the video on fractions. We would then like you to complete the tasks given. You do not have to print this off you can show your workings on a blank piece of paper if that is easier.
As it is VE Day on Friday, we would like you to complete a comprehension piece about it. You need to read the text twice before looking at the questions. When you move on to the questions please underline or highlight the answers in the text and answer in full sentences. We have attached the comprehension piece to our class page on the website. This can also be your reading for today.
If you require any help or assistance please do not hesitate to contact us on the Class Dojo page or on our school Facebook page.
Remember there are Dojo points up for grabs for every picture we see of completed work and points for going above and beyond by completing extra tasks e.g. Joe Wicks P.E lesson on YouTube.
Have a wonderful day and stay safe.
