Monday: For Maths today we will be looking again at adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators – remember that you might only need to change one of the denominators to make it the same as the other fraction but whatever you do to the denominator you MUST do to the numerator. Take a look at the video below to find out more about what we are learning about today. Once you have done that have a go at the questions on the sheet – this can be done in your lockdown Maths book if you don’t have access to a printer.
Tuesday: During today’s maths lesson you will be learning about adding mixed numbers- the video will take you through the strategies you will need to work these types of calculations out. Remember you will need to convert from the mixed number to an improper fraction and then you can add your fractions as normal. To convert a mixed number you will need to multiply your whole by your denominator and add the numerator – remember the denominator stays the same. Take a look at the video below to find out more about what we are learning about today. Once you have done that have a go at the questions on the sheet – this can be done in your lockdown Maths book if you don’t have access to a printer.
Wednesday: During Maths today the children in class will be doing their assessment. I would like you to spend some time on Mathletics and Times Table Rockstars revising your maths – if there’s anything you think you need another look over please do this on Mathletics and if you’re still unsure take a look at BBC Bitesize. If you need your logins for Rockstars or Mathletics please ask someone to message me on Class Dojo and I will get it sent over as soon as possible.
Thursday: In today’s lesson we will be learning about adding fractions, I know you can convert your denominators so they are the same - remember that whatever you do to the denominator you need to do the same to the numerator. Take a look at the video below before you have a go at the sheet. Complete this in your maths book if you haven’t got a printer.
