This week in Nursery the children have been learning all about Diwali which is celebrated by Hindu and Sikh people.  The children have listened to the story of Rama and Sita, had the opportunity to dress up in traditional Indian dress, made models of Diwa lamps and fireworks, and tried some Indian food including sweets, onion bhajis, chapattis and samosas.

Nursery is a busy place!

New Times

From Monday 19th October Nursery will start at 8.45am.  We will continue to finish at 12 noon.

Reading Books / Folders

Reading folders will be issued tomorrow.  Due to the current Covid situation we are unable to open the EYFS library so it has not been possible to allow parents to come in and choose books with their children as usual.  Instead, books will be issued every Friday.  Please return them by the following Wednesday so that we have time to get the new books ready.

Your child's reading folder will contain some handy tips for sharing books and each book will have a 'wow word sticker' in it.  This sticker suggests a word from the book that your child may not know so it is therefore an opportunity to teach them a new word.

The children have had a great start to the new year.  As soon as all of the permission forms have been returned I will be able to post photographs of the wonderful activities that the children have been taking part in.  I am sure they have been telling you all about it.

It has been lovely to meet parents and children due to start Nursery in a few weeks time.  Just a reminder that the start date is Monday 5th October at 9.10am, however we are running two shorter sessions on Thursday 1st October and Friday 2nd October from 10am to 11.30am that children are welcome to attend - we look forward to seeing you there.
