Nativity December 2020
We may not have been able to do our usual Nativity play this year, but Covid is not going to stop us putting on a show. I hope you enjoy the video.
Learning for the Week
This week as part of our learning about 'Celebrations', the children have been learning about birthdays. The children have learned what a birthday is, spoken about their own birthdays and parties and shared stores about birthdays such as 'Kipper's Birthday' and 'The Toys Party' (this story can be found on Oxford Owl - see information below).
The children have also started to make Christmas cards and decorations ready to decorate our classroom next week.
Oxford Owl
In order to support reading at home, the school has subscribed to Oxford Owl. This is a website where you can access an electronic copy of many of the school reading books. Please take the time to share these with your children. In order to login you will need a password and a user name.
The user name is 'nleese' and the password is 'Password1'
Please explore the website. There are books to share, games to play and information about phonics. The website is www.oxfordowl.co.uk
Diwali
This week in Nursery the children have been learning all about Diwali which is celebrated by Hindu and Sikh people. The children have listened to the story of Rama and Sita, had the opportunity to dress up in traditional Indian dress, made models of Diwa lamps and fireworks, and tried some Indian food including sweets, onion bhajis, chapattis and samosas.
