The children have learned about polar bears. The children have learned about the diet of a polar bear, how they keep warm in the snow and ice, where they live (the Arctic) and about how they look after their young. Ask your child to talk to you about what they have learned. The children also learned what an igloo is and they compared igloos to their own homes. Nursery children attempted to build a model igloo in the outdoor area.
Amazing Animals
This half term topic in EYFS is 'Amazing Animals'. As part of this topic Nursery children will be learning about animals that live in the Polar regions, the Jungle and the African Savannah. The children will also learn about how these parts of the world are different to where we live and how the lives of people living in these regions differs to that of their own.
Comic Relief
Nursery have been enjoying Red Nose Day. It was non-uniform day and there were lots of fun activities to do such as making Comic Relief biscuits, jam sandwiches and making masks. We are also incredibly proud of Archie who completed a sponsored 5k cycle ride with his dad to raise money.
Science Week
Nursery children have loved Science Week this week. The children have been using bubbles and experimenting to see if the size of the bubble wand makes a difference to the size of the bubbles created, finding out what happens to water when it gets really cold and exploring and finding out about some of the animals that live in the school woodland. The children enjoyed making bird feeders to hang in the woods.
Celebrating World Book Day
Thank you to everyone for making such an effort for World Book Day. The costumes looked fantastic and the children really enjoyed it. As part of our celebration of books and stories the children were invited to bring in their favourite story book from home. We shared as many of these as we could in class. Thank you for being so supportive.
