Good Morning Year 3 ðŸ™‚

We wanted to start by saying how impressed we were with the acrostic poems that you created yesterday, they were amazing! We are so proud of you for showing such commitment to your learning.

In Maths today we would like you to complete the word problems in the document at the bottom of this page, remember to use scrap paper to show all of your working out.

The time capsule activity today is to interview your parents or carers and ask them all about life during lockdown, please write down their answers in the boxes.

The English activity today is based around the picture below, take a good look at the picture and then choose one of the activities to complete.

Question Time

What do you think it would feel like to ride an ostrich?

How do you think the ostrich feels about being ridden?

What top-tips would you give Emma to help her win the race?

How do you think riding an ostrich would be different from riding a horse?

What thoughts do you thing are going through Emma’s mind?

Story Starter

She turned in the saddle and looked behind her. Emma could see the others gaining on her.

Digging in her heels, she whispered some words of encouragement in the ostrich’s ears as it burst into full speed. They were making good time, but there was so far still to go…

Can you continue the story? Who is chasing Emma? Is this a race or is she on another adventure?

As always we are here to help if needed and to answer any questions so please get in touch via Class Dojo or Facebook. We love seeing children’s work too so keep the pictures and messages coming in!

Have a wonderful day and stay safe.

Mrs Joesbury and Mrs Etheridge
