There will be some missing number questions, repeated addition questions and number lines too. We will explain all of this to you and provide examples on our online lesson at 9:55.

English

During our online English lesson at 11:35 we will be looking at an example of an instruction text and together we will highlight the features such as imperative verbs, time connectives and command sentences. We are also going to learn about the layout of instructional writing and what features we must use when we write a set of instructions.

Once we have looked at an example together we would like you to create your very own set of instructions, these instructions can be about how to play a game, how to make a cake or how to wash your hands. You need to choose something that you know how to do so have a little think before you start writing your instructions.

Please make sure that you use the instructions checklist below to double check that you have used all the features in your writing.

Did I

Use a title?

Include a list of what is needed?

Put the steps in order?

Use bullet points or number for each step?

Use bossy imperative verbs?

You can use the time connectives and bossy verbs sheets below to help you with your writing.

If you would like learn a little more about pop art and see some of the other pieces of art then search for Andy Warhol online. It would be lovely to see your pop art creations too.

Home Reader

We now have access to Bug Club. This allows you to read a variety of books at the correct book band you are on at school. We have allocated your book bands but once you have read all of the books within your current book band it will automatically move you up to the next one. We can’t wait to see how many book bands you move up.

Remember to start each story by using the read to me button and then read the story yourself. After each story make sure you answer the questions at the back of the book to help with your comprehension skills.
