Good Morning Year 3

We wanted to start by saying how much we enjoyed our zoom meeting yesterday, it was great seeing you all and playing the games. Next week we’re going to have 2 zoom meetings, one will be an English lesson and the other a Maths lesson. We’ll give you the meeting details next week. 

Today in English we will be focusing on the Talk For Writing text ‘The Stone Trolls’, please start by reading the text again to familiarise yourself with it. We’d then like you to answer the questions on page 8 which are all about your opinion and what you liked and didn’t like about the story. The sheet has provided a few lines to write your answer but if you’d like to go into more detail or write a longer answer please do so on another piece of paper. 

In Maths today we’d like you to work in your CGP booklets, you need to find the pages that are about using data. There are quite a few pages so please only do 2 of these today, we can do the others another day. 

Next week we are going to be learning all about Canopic Jars which were used by Ancient Egyptians during the mummification process. We would like you to design your own canopic jar today. The pictures below will give you some idea of what they looked like.

We have added some crosswords to the resources section on the class homepage, these crosswords are all of the statutory spellings for Year 3 and 4. Not only will it be fun to complete the crossword but you’ll also be practising your spellings too.
