Recount Week: The Man on the Moon

 

Monday -To listen to a story

In this lesson, we will be listening to the story of The Man on the Moon. We are going to be imagining that we are the man on the moon this week and we will write a recount as if we were an astronaut.

 

Tuesday - To commit a story to memory

Today, we are going to be drawing our story maps to help us to commit the story to memory. There will be challenge at the end of the lesson to tell the story independently. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil.

 

Wednesday - To use the first person and the past tense

In this lesson, we will be learning about the first person and the past tense to ensure that we use the key features of a recount.

 

Thursday - To begin to write our recount

Today, we are going to start to write our recount of the day of The Man on the Moon. You will need your story map ready to help you to remember what happens. You will also need a piece of lined paper and a pencil.

 

Friday - To continue to write our recount

Today, we will finish of our recount and edit our work. We will be particularly checking that we have used first person and the past tense.
