Multiplying and Dividing by 10, 100 and 1000
Zoom call at 9:10 for the first 15 minutes (log in details will be the same for every session). Please attend if possible.
In this lesson we are going to be using our multiplication and division knowledge along with our place value skills too.
When we multiply by 10, 100 and 1000 remember we need to use the amount of 0’s in those numbers to tell us how many places our numbers move. When you are multiplying each digit of the number moves to the left.
When we divide the numbers move the same amount of places but this time the numbers move to the right.
Example 1:
0.75 x 100 = 75
If I am multiplying by 100 you would jump 2 places to the left as there are 2 0’s in 100.
Example 2:
5.2 ÷ 10 = 0.52
If I am dividing by 10 you would jump 1 place to the left as there is 1 0 in 10

Quiet Reading Time
Find a comfortable spot for your reading or you may want to find an unusual place for a change. Ask your adult to send me a picture of you reading in your spot or tell me where it is on Class Dojo.
Make sure you have your reading record signed by an adult at home to show that you have kept up your reading and send over a picture on Class Dojo, this will earn you more dojos.

Chapter Two of Skellig
Zoom call at 10:50am for the first 15 minutes (log in details the same as previous sessions). Please attend.
Today we are going to focus on our book ‘Skellig’. I have attached a copy of Chapter Two of the book below, we will read this together during our online lesson so please don’t read ahead.
Once we have read it you will have 4 questions to answer about the text and then you will need your art skills as well as your English skills. Take your time to underline or highlight the information in Chapter Two that tells you about the garage – find any information that describes what it looks like. Once you have found all the information that describes the garage you need to draw what you think it looks like using the description in the chapter.
Take a page in your blue book to do this or you can do it on some plain paper if you have some at home. Please take your time in using the description to influence your drawing and send them over to me on Class Dojo.
11:50 – 12:30
Music
Makaton
For this term’s music lesson we will be taking some time to learn Makaton again. Firstly, I would like you to listen and appraise the song below using the questions
1. What instruments can you hear?
2. What style of music is this?
3. What is the structure of the song?
4. Do you like/dislike the song and why?
Once you have listened and appraised take a look at the video below and watch out for the Makaton signs – you will need to spend some time looking carefully at how each sign is formed.
1:15 – 2:35
Enrichment
For today’s enrichment I have provided some options of drawing, creating a book mark or participating in some physical activity. Take your pick on what you want to do from these options below but don’t forget to send over some pictures on Class Dojo.
