Maths

Volume and Capacity

We will be revisiting volume and capacity again today to ensure that you are secure in the both ways in which we find it and the difference between volume and capacity.

Remember that when you are given the length, height and depth you need to multiply them all together – this will give you your total volume.

When you are finding the capacity you are finding the amount of liquid that can fit into a certain space like a bottle, jug or can for example.

The capacity of the jug is 1 litre as this is how much liquid it can hold. The jug is currently holding 750ml of juice as the marker is exactly half way between 700 and 800ml.

Please note on the first worksheet you only need to complete the first page and there's even a practical activity for you to complete today too.

10:30-10:50

Quiet Reading Time – Bug Club

Find a comfortable spot for your reading or you may want to find an unusual place for a change. Ask your adult to send me a picture of you reading in your spot or tell me where it is on Class Dojo.

Make sure you have your reading record signed by an adult at home to show that you have kept up your reading and send over a picture on Class Dojo, this will earn you more dojos.

10:50 – 11:50

English- Skellig Based Activity

During this lesson we will finish Skellig – I will read the last 2 chapters during the live session and it is your time to reflect on what the book was about, the parts you liked and the bits you weren’t a fan of, you can also recommend this book to others.

Life Cycles

During this lesson you will continue to work on your understanding of life cycles, this time you will look at the difference between internal fertilisation and external fertilisation and discover the animals that carry out these processes.

Your task for this lesson once you have read through the presentation is to create  mini book for young children about our chosen animal life cycle, I have attached some fact cards for you to have a look at and use however if you want to choose a different animal you can. Also if you do not have access to a printer for the book template you can create one on a piece of paper or use your book to write your information down.
